We specialize in improving water quality and effective algae control products. Smoky Trout Farm has many ways to help eliminate all types of algae. You may hear it called blue green algae or cyanobacteria, pond scum, filamentous algae, planktonic algae, horse hair algae etc... There are many types and many names but they all have a few things in common. They need to eat (nutrients) and they need UV rays (sun) for photosynthesis. Block the sun's rays with pond dye, use Aeration and Beneficial Bacteria to reduce nutrient loading, use a safe algaecide like Polypro or Polydex, or go chemical free and use ultrasound to kill the algae.
