We specialize in improving water quality and effective algae control products. Smoky Trout Farm has many ways to help eliminage all types of algae. You may hear it called blue green algae or cyanobacteria, pond scum, filamentous algae, planktonic algae, horse hair algae etc... There are many types and many names but they all have a few things in common. They need to eat (nutrients) and they need UV rays (sun) for photosynthesis. Block the sun's rays with pond dye, use aeration to reduce nutrient loading, either use a safe algaecide like Polypro or Polydex, or go chemical free and use ultrasound to kill the algae. Sometimes a combination of provides the best results. Contact us with your specific situation and we can help you start controlling your algae blooms in an effective way that meets your budget!
