Fish Stocking Info and 2012 Pricing Having a pond stocked with fish can be beneficial in many ways. Reasons for stocking your pond or lake may vary greatly. Maybe its for family sport fishing or to have a reliable source of fresh, heart healthy fish for your dinner table. Maybe its for reducing freshwater shrimp clogging of irrigation intake screens, for creating a more balanced and healthy pond ecosystem, or even for predatory bird watching! Whatever the reason, Smoky Trout Farm has quality fish to fit your need. We are proud to offer fish that are Federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans Certified Disease Free, and are grown without hormones or antibiotics. Our recirculation facility has a very low net water use, with higher water reuse rates than the vast majority of indoor fish farms in operation. Over 99.8% of our water is continually recirculated with only about 0.2% of new makeup water used on a net basis. We pride ourselves on having a VERY HIGH repeat customer rate. Many of our customers pre-order fish for the following year when taking delivery or picking up their fish order. It costs nothing to pre-order. If you are looking for good size selection, ORDER EARLY! Please call at least two days prior to fish pickup to schedule a time. We don’t take drop in orders. You MUST CALL AHEAD. You must have a fish culture license to stock fish. Click HERE for details. Our fish are sized by WEIGHT. Fish grown at different temperatures and feed rates will be different proportions. Our production is based on weight and that is the most consistent way to size our fish. Slot lengths are posted to give and approximate length. When looking for fish, make sure to compare the fish per pound or average weight. The lower the number of fish per pound, the larger the fish.

Hauling Your Own Fish Home and Hauling Equipment & Pricing Having Fish Delivered $70 - $150 per drop. Average is $90 per stop. Please call for an estimate. A minimum $250 fish order is required for each delivery. Feeding Your Fish Approximate feed rates are 1% of fish bodyweight per day. A simple way to feed is this: only feed what the fish will consume in 10 minutes. If there is feed remaining on surface after that time, feed less at the next feeding. Once per day is adequate for maintenance. For extra growth feed morning and night. Have a look at our great demand and auto feeders to keep your fish growing when you are not around! If fish are no longer consuming supplemental feed, they are most likely meeting their nutritional requirements through natural food sources.
