Options for hauling your fish home safely

March 28, 2017

B.Y.O.B.
(Bring your oxygen bottle)

What you need

  • A FULL oxygen bottle with a regulator (you must provide)

  • A fine pore oxygen diffuser, hose and fittings

  • Water tank(s) or rain barrel(s)

  • Plastic Shipping Bag (recommended)

Refer to the haul chart below to determine the number and size of fish that can be hauled per barrel.

We carry all the equipment necessary to set up high quality shipping assemblies.

120V Linear Air Pump

What you need

  • 120V CONTINUOUS DUTY air pump

  • An air stone diffuser, hose and fittings

  • Water tank(s) or rain barrel(s)

  • Plastic Shipping Bag (recommended)

  • 12V power inverter

Refer to the haul chart below to determine the number and size of fish that can be hauled per barrel.

We carry all the equipment necessary to set up high quality shipping assemblies.

We DO NOT recommend using low cost 12V air compressors available at hardware stores as most are rated for intermittent use only. If run continuously they can overheat and lose airflow.

Sealed Shipping Bag
(with oxygen)

What you need

  • Container(s) or rain barrel(s)

  • NEW Plastic Shipping Bag

A 6mil barrel liner or 4mil bag is placed in a barrel or other container and filled 1/3 with oxygen saturated water. The fish are added and the remaining 2/3 is filled with pure oxygen gas. Once sealed, fish may be hauled for up to two hours.

Refer to the haul chart below to determine the haul times for different quanitities and sizes of fish.

We only use NEW bags for sealed shipping.
